There's something cool about working in small scale. The smaller it is,the better! Here are two new creations. The first,a mini altered metal tin magnet named "Sieze the Day".Made with premium paper,Ceremony image, metal frame, transperancy, swarovski crystal, wire and more.

I also created a mini wooden shadow box named "Hope".This little beauty packs a punch. The box itself was painted and distressed and covered in a layer of wax.
The slide up lid has stickers and marker. The inside includes premium paper, vintage reprint, floral findings,Dresden Trim and beads.

The back has a wonderful image and the title of one of my favorite poems. It has also been sealed in wax.

The total ht on both of these is approx.2 1/2".
They will be appearing on Ebay Shortly.

Oh happy day..today I came across a wonderful blog.Christina from
http://soulaperture.blogspot.com/ is asking everyone today to
create a list...what kind of a list, well, let me let her explain it to you..

"dear january, we love you but, it's time to show you who's boss! my friends and i are posting the simple things in life, that we appreciate. we will weave our words with love, gratefulness, meaning and spunk.

no matter how big or small, we will bring light with the simple things.
For each blog that participates, my family will donate $1.00, to doctors without borders.
up to 250.00
have fun and thank you from the bottom of my heart"

And so,after reading Christina's beautiful list and Kamana's list on http://journallingthroughphotos.blogspot.com/ I just had to start planning my own list.

Simple things that make my heart sing today..
-a breeze, the kind that makes you feel love,warmth,happiness,peace..all at the same time.
-small hands in mine, walking to and from school.
-unconditional love..when the eyes of my youngest gaze at me,they are filled with only love and sweetness.
-hot soup on a cold day...my mothers soup..my comfort food.
-the way you feel when you get a haircut,..new,ready to face the world.
-the way he makes me laugh, even when I don't want to,and end up laughing at myself.
-the way her head is high. She is a leader, strong and ready..I may have to get out of her way, even if I don't want to.
-the sound of the fountain in the pool, the way the birds fly above me,the four legged friend that is always close.
-the place we call home..its not the walls, nor the paint,or even the blocks that hold it together..its the hearts inside..all beating with love for one another, its the sound of the laughter coming from the other room...or even the arguing...its the smell of dinner as we sit together, its the sofa in which we all sit to watch American Idol, its the blanket we all share.
-it's the gift, and I take it with open arms, grateful and blessed. The Gift of another day.
-it's you.
-its me.
-it's us.

I have been playing with wax for some time now,but today I finally finished a little wooden plaque I was fiddling around with. Its called "Breathe Deeply..Live Richly" and it measures 7" x 5".

It wasn't until the very end that I thought..How in the world is anyone going to hang this? It's to late for me to drill some holes because I will damage the wax...so now what do I do.....that's OK..I learned something for my next wax project.

This plaque was also made with premium paper, stickers, beads, glitter, paint, ribbon, hardware and crayons.
I will be putting this plaque on EBAY sometime next week...once I figure out how to hang it( : Any suggestions???

Through the eyes of a Artist.I took this beautiful image the other day, falling in love with the colors of the morning sky.My mind quickly wandered to the Grace in which we are fortunate enough to get a glimpse of ..every now and then. And so I ran inside grabbed the camera, and happy with the shot,I showed it to my 12 year old artist and said,"look at this Glorious sky..Come and share it with me" and so we looked and she said to me,"we are not the only ones in love with the sky this morning..the dog in the trees is enjoying himself as well."

More Digital Fun!!I'm thinking its just as much fun to create ACEO'S digitally than by hand.I'm hoping to start a new collection of digital ACEO's.I still love the feel of a pair of tiny scissors in my hand, but this digital stuff is awesome!!I feel like I have more freedom this way.I was even thinking of combining the two, creating a digital ACEO,printing it up and then adding more texture with beads and doo-dads...I'm still learning, and this is all exciting to me..This new ACEO is called "Missing you from Paris"

Training wheels off.Check.Helmets on.Check.Faith.Check."Now lets go learn how to ride a bike" I said to Joshua,my youngest. And we were off peddling in the direction of the grass,a soft place to land,in case he fell. And he did, over and over,up,down,a scrape here a bump there.Still,he kept on,determined this would be the day....
So when the time came....I let go.

From the sidelines,we watched,my oldest and I,and quietly I whispered,"Just look at him go".Smile.He was going so fast I had to yell out..."Slow down"...and he did...of course the pole he hit had something to do with that.He jumped up,yelling, and screaming. We started laughing and soon after he started laughing too.He climbed back on,and took what he needed from that pole.Flying with his new wings, around and around,he soared.

And so I learned, just like he did, that there are times in which the training wheels must come off,a time in which we put on our helmets, expecting a few bumps and bruises along the way,and that we must always head in the direction of the grass.
