I just happened to be reading back on some older posts and I realized I have
already passed the one year mark in Blogworld..Holy Smokes!!This journey has meant more to me than you can possibly know.I have enjoyed sharing my art,my thoughts and even my nonsense.Thank you for coming along with me on this road to self discovery.

The other day I posted a comment on a wonderful blog http://corginews.blogspot.com/ it was about staying centered,finding your self in a busy,distracted world.I told her that in my little craft room,I have framed "my loves" ..Words that remind me of the things I love...For example...I love reading Jane Austin,..

..I love Poetry,quotes,..I love to create,I love my daughters inner beauty,I love Period movies,..

I love rain on my face,breezes,I love spending time with myself,my husbands strength,the feel of grass,....
I love filtered sun,watching a flock a birds,my sons laughter,I love kindness,and compassion,I love my mothers hands..

A few..from a long list of loves.These frames have become my backbone,they have held me up when I'm feeling lost,confused, even frustrated.They center me.Every once in a while,I need to remember what I love...outside of the obvious.
I come across so many woman that take care of others,...putting every one before themselves.Every ounce of energy they put into organizing a household,...working,..mothering...wife,....I'm just saying,...sometimes....we need to love ourselves...by remembering what makes us happy and why we are,what we are..Whats on your List?

"One Fine Day"

A new listing for tonight."One Fine Day" Altered wooden plaque.

It measures appox. 7" x 5"

The plaque has been painted and distresses.I also used a vintage reprint,die-cut,stickers,pearl,beads,heavy gauge wire,floral findings and more.

The entire piece has been covered in a thin layer of beeswax

Yesterday I came across this simple u-tube video and I thought it was the s w e e t e s t thing ever.I think I watched it about 12 times,and every time, the tears flowed.. Memories,happiness,love..filled my heart as I remember my own precious children at this age.I understand God's plan,but why does Time have to move so quickly.

Yipppeeee its Friday!!....Tomorrow I'm sleeping in!!!Well,sleeping in is about 7ish..once the little feet start running..I'm up! It's been a busy week but I was happy to squeeze in some digital art and some new Ebay listings.

The first two are my entries in the Valentine "Digital Whisper" Challenge.

And for Ebay I have a mini wooden frame that has been painted and distressed.I also added floral findings,vintage reprint,premium paper and stickers.The frame reads"Reach for the moon,even if you miss,you'll land among the stars."

And a new 4(four)pack of blank cards with envelopes.These measure 4" x 5 1/2". They have been inked and stamped,sewn on with premium papers,stickers,letter cards,and swarovski crystals.

I would also like to thank Terri Conrad.I won the most generous Giveaway and just had to share her beautiful creation.Thank you Terri!!

I have always loved movies that feed the creative soul.A visual feast that makes your heart thump away at the beauty on the screen..Some of my favorites include,The brilliant "Lord of the Rings"... the Sci-fi rollercoaster ride "in The Matrix"....The beauty in "Crouching Tiger"..The scenery in "The Painted Veil"..The music in "Pride and Prejudice"(which is the first song you hear on my blog) and most recently"Avatar".

Dearest Eli,

Why do I write to you Sweet Eli?

I started writing when I was about 13.I received my first diary from my brother.Such a treasure.My treasure.It was a pretty little thing with pink trim.Now that treasure stays tucked away for safe keeping and due to damage I had to separate all the little pages and place them in sleeves.

When I fist heard the name I was in church(One of the many my parents took us too)and I remember looking up as though someone had called my name."Eleazar" the priest said..The son of Aaron.I remember repeating the name over and over in my head..how it sweetly sang to me.Even though I knew it was a male name,my connection with it was real,and there was no denying it.So when my love for fashion design started,it was only natural that I use the name placed in my path. With some tweaking,my journals and designs would carry the name Eli Azar.


Through the course of my young life I consistently journaled.Capturing festive and fun times,wild and stupid times,first loves...first every things.

When I was about 30 I started going back and reading my earlier journals...I quickly noticed a pattern with my writing.My writing had taken on the role of superficial guardian.Hiding myself from every ounce of emotion,I wrote only about happy times,consciously neglecting what I didn't want to face.As an outsider looking in,based on my journals,life was great!
And so I came to question my motive for writing in the first place.I beat myself up about that.If my hope has always been to one day pass my journals on to my children,...why document a false reality?



So when my daughter said to me the other day....."who cares if the sun comes up"(something I always tell her when she's blue) I remembered my earlier journals.Though they may be only part of the truth,they are the truth none the less.Those journals helped mold me into the "cup is always have full" kinda girl I am today.Yes,..we all have issues,yes,.. we all have skeletons in our closets,yes,... we all get sad,yes....but the sun always comes up,and this perception is my reality.It is the base that holds me together.

Nowadays,I journal less,but with a open heart.It's ok to share sadness and grief,its a helpful tool in recovery.My journal of choice these days,lies on my lap as I type.This blog started as a way to share my art and it has become so much more.The wonderful people I meet,sharing stories,sharing life.A wonderful opportunity to keep growing.Thank you friends.

Hello Old friend.It's been a while.I've looked for you in the distance and yet you choose to stay hidden.Each day I hope,... perhaps today will be the day my friend will come back to me.....I'm just not the same with out you.Your encouragement keeps me going,pushing me,guiding me.

In the early morning,as the kids eat breakfast,I take a peak from the kitchen window,hoping and praying...perhaps today will be the day......And today, a smile crosses my face as I see you standing proud before me..........."The bitter cold has kept me away", you whisper,"....but I promise you I am never far from you."

And so as I walk the kids to school,you begin to weave in and out of the trees... trying to find your way to me....and even from a distance... your beauty clears my mind,..it helps me to enjoy and appreciate the time we have together.......At last,.... the trees clear,..and you find your way to me,...wrapping your gentle warm arms around me.

When I first saw this weeks challenge on "Digital Whisper" ..Create a Shadow"...I thought "How hard can it be to create a shadow...." Well, ...I ate those words pretty quickly!Here is my Shadow Challenge Entry named "Open".

"Blue Skies uP above me"..lalala..di... da. A glorious day to be at home..it's been to hectic lately and I am thrilled to have nothing on my to-do list...well,that's not exactly true.I planned on catching up on some creating!!! Today is a stay at home day...There's no...work..school volunteering..grocery shopping..post office...after school activities......nothing...So what does that mean exactly...well,Lets open up some windows and let that blue sky in.

Some new Creations.The first a felt book named "Dream it up Little One".. filled with lovely doo-dads. On the second panel you can see why I have been humming this song..




Two New ACEO'S "Follow your Heart" and "Sisters".These two ACEO'S were created using premium paper,stickers,mulberry paper and swarovski crystals.


And a altered mini wooden block named "Dream".This little treasure measures approx 5 1/2" high.I used heavy gauge wire,premium paper,stickers,floral findings and more.

New to EBAY tonight.First a 3" x 5" wooden plaque named "Share". The plaque has been painted and distressed.I also used premium paper,wire,pearl stickers and stars.The entire piece has a layer of Beeswax.I added beads and charms to the chain.

Also a new four panel Flip Book named "Fly". Embellished with hand made flowers,ink,stitching,metal doo-dads and more.The last page has the wonderful poem by Emily Dickenson.."Hope is a thing with Feathers"

A Photo Challege...Well sort of..I'm not much of a photographer,but I'm trying.What I really need is some motivation.So I decided why not challenge myself.It will motivate me into carrying my camera around with me more often and hopefully it will make me more aware of my surroundings and in turn,help me to appreciate more.
And so I decided to pick a weekly word,(the word for this week is "Green")..see what I come up with,and pick my favorite photo(s) to share with you.I'm hoping that as I get used to the camera,I will be able to think outside of the box,get out of my comfort zone and shoot images that have more substance.
