Happy Place and Giveaway

My art room is small and it's jam packed with everything I love.
I'll admit,I have often imagined a huge workshop with tons of space and light.
But since I started years ago, working from my dining room table
I feel blessed to now have this small happy place I call my studio.
I was recently asked about space...
So I thought I'd take you along for a little tour...

This is where I normally sit and work on some jewelry..

It's a bit cramped, but it's nice having all my tools within arms reach...

This is where I sew...my favorite spot because I love having the window open and listening to the pool fountain and bird music outside..
I wish you could see my beautiful Underwood Typewriter on the left...it's covered with some vintage photos so it's hard to see...

On the other wall I have my counter...full of paints and glues and paper and kits and artbits...geez..when did I gather so much stuff...

Can you see the lovely Artbits from Paper Whimsy...oh dear..I'm in love with her wood goodies...

Now can you tell what my favorite tool is by looking at these photos?
huh?
guess again?
yup.
The label maker.
heehee..
I label everything..
even found this old photo of Wolfie...

Hubby says I have a problem..
I don't know what he's talking about.

Otilia

Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's name is Otilia Carvajal Benavides
and on Tuesday we celebrated her 74th birthday.
She happens to be the kindest lady I know and I sure do love her a lot.
She has a gentle heart and even in her soft spoken ways, one cant help but sit up and listen.
I am the youngest of five and so often she would say to us...you are all a part of me,like my hand, each finger a part of the other and all a part of me.
When I was a teenager I wrote a poem called "My Mothers Hand"...I don't remember it all,but still get chocked up thinking about it and the feelings it gave me.
My Mom still has it hanging in her bedroom.
She's pretty great....
and I guess I'm just feeling
thankful...
for
everything.

Here's me and Mom
Love you.

Now for the winner of my Bird Nest Pendant Giveaway....Congrats...Pat from http://thewhytepaper.blogspot.com/
I will be in touch with you very soon.

Tutorial and a Giveaway

I purchased this bezel from Objects and Elements a while back  and it has been sitting on my work table saying...Come on already...fill me up with some love....
and so I did...

I first cut out a piece of scrap paper to size and covered it in modge podge...

then grabbed one of these fun 3d nest stickers from Recollections...

I took the back off, placed the nest on some wax paper and covered it in resin...(when the resin puddles on the bottom, wait an hour, then slide it to another spot on the wax paper)

Gather a rhinestone strand and word sticker.Mount the sticker on to black card stock...

add some foam dots to the back of the sticker...this gives the sticker height in the bezel...

Arrange the components.Mix up a small batch of Ice Resin and with a wire add it to the bezel..one drop at a time...Next,add some drops to the bottom and place the rhinestones on top of it...

Once cured, soften up the pendant by adding a jersey chain and and stitch on a button.

House Bezel,Ice Resin,Rhinestone strand can be found at http://objectsandelements.com/shop/

Now if you want a chance to win this sweet bezel just leave me a comment and I will pick a winner on Sweethearts day Feb 14th!!

Have a lovely day friends!! And remember..
