Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's name is Otilia Carvajal Benavides
and on Tuesday we celebrated her 74th birthday.
She happens to be the kindest lady I know and I sure do love her a lot. 
She has a gentle heart and even in her soft spoken ways,one cant help but sit up and listen.
I am the youngest of five and so often she would say to us...you are all a part of me,like my hand,each finger a part of the other and all a part of me.
When I was a teenager I wrote a poem called "My Mothers Hand"...I don't remember it all,but still get chocked up thinking about it and the feelings it gave me.
My Mom still has it hanging in her bedroom.
She's pretty great....
and I guess I'm just feeling
thankful...
for 
everything.

Love both the photos of you two. Moms are so wonderful! My eyes are watering now...thinking about my mom...I miss her terribly but cherish every moment I was blessed to spend with her.

Oh what a love tribute to your Mom. What a marvelous way to describe her children. I love her name it is so full of gusto! I bet no one messed around with your Mom...Congrats and Happy Birthday to her. xox

Happy birthday to your mother! Love the two pictures of the two of you. I can see so much of Hannah and Joshua in your younger self. I think you posted "My Mother's Hand" here on your blog because it sounds so familiar. My mother's 79th birthday is today.

What a lovely post and thank you for sharing your mother with us all. My mom passed away from cancer very quickly in 1997. She was a young 66 and not a day goes by that I don't miss her. You are so blessed to have your mom still with you and it was joy to read this post. Happy Birthday to you mom.
