Creative Workshops Blog Hop

I am so very excited to announce this amazing news and giveaway!!
To celebrate the Creative Workshops move,we are giving away a slew of classes
via a blog party!! But before I get to all that I want to share information about our new
home.
We now have our own dedicated website, store and blog for Creative Workshops. You
will find us over there with doors held wide open in happy, smiling greeting. Our website
has links all over the place for you to find just about any kind of information on how
everything works and for purchasing classes.
And classes are what we are all about: Inspiring those with artistic yearnings, or
imparting knowledge of a technique that is new to someone else, who hadn't thought of
doing something quite that way. We never know how a class may impact someone.. but
impact we know they do, because we've heard from you!
A few highlights about Creative Workshops:
Available online 24/7 to fit your schedule. You can watch videos as often as you
want, when you want. AND ipad access!

Once a class opens there is no take down date to worry about so no pressure to be
done by a certain date. If a teacher must retire a class (very few do) we give you 6
months notice.

Do you want to be kept abreast of all things Creative Workshops? Especially new
classes (we're adding all the time) and teacher class sales? We offer several choices
to keep informed : newsletter subscription, blog subscription and facebook.

Now to the Party Giveaways!
At the bottom of this post you will find a list of all our party participating teachers, and
the links to their blogs.
Each teacher is giving away one of their classes for free to a lucky commenter!
The idea of the list is that you can follow the party trail from blog to blog, leaving a
comment on each blog you visit, therefore increasing your chances of winning a free
class from one of the teachers you leave a comment for! Now how cool is that?!

Every class giveaway will be different because the teachers are generously each giving
away one of their own classes. Gosh, maybe a really lucky commenter could win multiple
free classes!! Now THAT would be awesome for the winner wouldn't it! Stranger things
have been known to happen. :)

Since I myself offer multiple classes, my free giveaway to the winning commenter is
their choice of any one of the three classes, including my new one "Easy Solder Casting" due to open October 28th!

To win the opportunity for a free class from me you must leave a comment on this post
and only this post. It helps me keep track of everyone. The party runs Sept. 23-Sept.29. I
will use a random number generator to choose the lucky winner and announce the name
Monday Sept 30.
Once you leave your comment on my post then from the list below choose the next blog
you have not visited and leave a comment on their blog post. Each blog will have this
list so you can move through the party leaving your trails of comments everywhere and
increasing your chances of a FREE CLASS!
Go, go, go...tell your friends!!!!

Assemblage Wear at Paper Whimsy!

Assemblage Wear?
Huh?
What's that?
"assemblage,  in art, work produced by the incorporation of everyday objects into the composition. Although each non-art object, such as a piece of rope or newspaper, acquires aesthetic or symbolic meanings within the context of the whole work, it may retain something of its original identity.

One of my current favorite assemblage artists...

See what I mean? I look at his stuff and I go ga-ga.

I'm excited to be taking his class this October at Art is You...I have no idea how I'm going to incorporate what I learn into what I normally do,but I'm ready for the challenge.
In the meantime...
I've been wondering... Why does Assemblage have to go on the table or on the wall?
Why cant we walk around wearing our mini works of art?
Hence.
Assemblage Wear..heehee..

Be sure to stop by the Paper Whimsy inspire blog and learn how I made my version of a little hanging assemblage.

I've become obsessed...again.

The thing is...we mixed media artists become obsessed with a new technique or product every week or so...at least I do...heehee..but this last technique has overtaken my senses and I am thinking about this the first minute I wake up...to the minute my brain shut's down late at night.
Currently obsessed with Solder Casting.
Casting:
The act or process of making casts or molds.
and in this case...I am casting with Solder, making beautiful shapes with molten solder.

Now there are multiple ways to cast solder, but to be honest, they were all a bit to scary for me. For almost a year, I have tossed and turned, trying to figure out an easy way to cast...

and yes,I finally figured it out and I am over the moon excited about it. I've been working hard to get my new online class underway called "Easy Solder Casting" and I have some fun new things in the works
but I just had to share my
thrill
my
excitement
my
new obsession with you.

So be on the look out for Casting news and be sure to stop by my Etsy shop for some new Casting Work...

 and for my blogger friends,
be sure to use "Blog20" for  20% off anything in the shop!
Enjoy your day friends!!
