A Giveaway and "Let your Art Light the Way"

Happy Monday Everyone!!

Here are some new trinkets that have kept my MIND busy lately..I actually started some of these a while back, but like most things of value, the art of CREATION cannot be rushed. It comes only when one is truly OPEN to the idea of EMPTINESS...filling itself with colors, texture, sound and taste. When I find myself in a pickle, unable to finish what I started,..I simply leave it alone for a while, until at last..my emptiness has been filled,my mind becomes CLEAR and acute..and I can see the light.. with NEW eyes.

"Let your Art Light the Way" Magnet

"Discover All The Possibilities" Hanging Circuit Board

And so it Begins" Beeswax ACEO Art Card

Now for this months Giveaway..I am really having FUN with these cuff bracelets..and for you my sweet FRIENDS I am offering a new cuff named "Gratitude".Created by STITCHING layers of fabric, muslin and felt.Plus beads and a metal tag created by me.This cuff fits up to 8"

All you have to do is leave me a comment, and please put a comment on your blog so I can spread the word about the Giveaway.I will announce the winner on the 5th of July.

Beads,Beads and more Beads

A generous Giveaway is on the horizon, you simply must check it out!Since I'm new to using beads, this one is right up my alley.hehehehe.Just click on the link to enter this awesome giveaway!

http://deniseyezbakmoore.blogspot.com/

Speaking of beads..I would like to thank Connie for inspiring me to organize a little corner of my space. After I had a peak at her gorgeous studio which you can drool over here http://ceostudiosolutions.blogspot.com/2010/06/welcome-to-my-studio-makeover.html I knew something had to be done! Like I said before,in the past, I really didn't use beads all that often, but lately the use of beads have become a vital part of my creations. So my frustrations as of late have been my bowls of mismatched beads in which I can never find what I need.Of course I did not organize as beautifully as Connie, but I can give you one tip..use screw on caps if you plan on separating them.I originally purchased snap on lids and every time I picked one up the beads would come flying out.

Thanks Connie for the inspiration!!

And as life often takes you for a ride, after I recruited the children in separating my beads and they started to sparkle in my window,I was inspired to create something new.I have seen so many lovely cuffs and never attempted due to my lack of experience with the sewing machine.Well lately my mantra has been..."The machine is my friend..the machine is my friend"...hey.. don't laugh..whatever helps the brain to focus right...well I'm finally getting used to the sweet singing Singer, and mustered up the nerve to make some cuffs.

Please Visit Ripple.

Yesterday while visiting Lori at http://loritimesfive.blogspot.com/ she told us about "Ripple". A wonderful and creative idea to help the animal victims of the oil spill.Kelly from http://prettygoodforagirl.blogspot.com/ came up with this idea and after checking out the site I wanted to donate a card.

You can see all the wonderful cards donated in hopes of helping here.. http://ripplesketches.blogspot.com/

And the way Ripple works..

"Donation Details - How this works
Each sketchcard on this blog is $10.00. The $10.00 is a donation to help the animal victims of the Deep Water Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. Every penny is donated. The two Non-Profits that are benefiting are The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and The International Bird Rescue Research Center. You can purchase a card if you donate directly to one of the non-profits and email me the confirmation and your address to ripplesketches@verizon.net. The artist will mail you the signed card.

We don't have to feel helpless. We can help. Our small actions together will ripple outward. "

Here is my Donation. Its called "It all Matters".It measures 2 1/2" x 3 1 /2" and it was created using premium paper, gauze, glitter, stickers, bird die-cut,gold foil and the entire piece has been covered in beeswax.

Thank you Lori for introducing us to Ripple and thank you Kelly for coming up with this wonderful idea.

Full of Treasures

I love working on a small scale.Recently a customer asked me to make one of my mini scrapbook boxes for her daughter.I used to make these in a larger scale, but for me..the smaller the better. After I finished the first one,I was inspired to create another one. This one is called "Togetherness" and it measures 2 1/4" x 3 3/4".The photos need to be a teeny-weeny 1 1/4" x 1 1/4"

I also finished a little block. It measures approx.3" high.On the sides it reads.."Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much-Hellen Keller

I also recently had the oppertunity to join in on the most exciting challenge..Brenda from http://wickedwoolgathering.blogspot.com/ challenged us to create something using her hand made wool..How exciting..and yesterday I recieved it in the mail, and I couldnt believe my eyes.. the most beautiful rainbow of colored wool...what was I to do..Well I have to be truthful here...I couldnt keep my hands off of it..its texture is simply devine and just had to create something RIGHT AWAY!!

I first made a book of treasures.I happen to collect things..treasured things like baby teeth, little drawings,shells,rocks,spools,buttons..whatever..my treasures..and so my book "Essential Stuff" was made with Brenda's gray and white wool, felt and other doo-dads.

..and I also created a small wool pendant..it started off as an ACEO Card, but I quickly decided to cut it down..smaller the better..and the blue wool looked like a beautiful sky and green had to be the grass and I stitched some mountains and added beads..what fun! Thanks Brenda!!

I still have some left...and my mind is already racing with ideas..

I think I found a new treasure..sweet Brenda Wool...What kind of treasures do you collect?
