Breaking Out

Busy Busy...yes,indeed.So much going on and I keep telling myself..one thing at a time Cat..
One thing at a time.

I actually had some minutes to create this week.I feel as though it has been far to long since I listened to my mixed media soul.I have been distracted with a new creative project and had hopes of sharing it with you,but sadly I am still waiting on supplies.I have had a difficult time jumping from one medium to another and because this new project has consumed so many of my little brain cells, I found it difficult to settle back into my mixed media zone. After waiting over a month on supplies for this new project, I finally forced myself to create something ..Once finished ,I felt relieved and like a bird breaking out of its cage.

"Three" Fabric Cuff
(felt,muslin,gauze,mesh,beads,stitch and hand work)

                                                            "Always Believe"Altered Mirror
                                                (recyled mirror,vintage reprint,premium paper,
                                                 muslin,doodads,and a layer of resin)

                                                                Altered Mini Tin Ornies
                                                         (mini tin ornies,premium paper,chipboard,
                                                       wire,glitter,beads,crystals)

Ahh..feels nice to use a mix of materials....

I will leave you today with a hint of my new favorite material..
Yummy Sterling Silver!!

Shhh...Dont tell..More to come.

As always,
thank you so much for stopping by

Like the ornies idea, I hate to throw those tins away.I have one I have used for fishing weights for 25 years. My daughter tried to show me squash books, but hers has a bit more charm. I did some casting with the silver in college, using a lost wax method.

Cat, your work is unbelievably special. It's easy to see all the thought and love you put into every thing you make. I love it all, but i'm excited about the new jewelry line. I know it's going to be fantastic! The Rumi quote is so lovely.

Oh what beauties! It is always such a visual delight when I visit your blog! I understand what it's like to be pulled back and forth between different things...but at least you're still productive with gorgeous pieces of art to show for it! Can you send an ounce of that creativity my way? I just love your cuff ....but my favorite is the vintage mirror!!!
