Somerset Studio:Playing With Gauze

The other day I was scrolling down my facebook page and something caught my eye...in a Stampington and Company post, it read...

Stampington &Company

When Artist Cat Kerr's husband come home after a stay in the hospital, the couple acquired loads of gauze and tape. One year later, she came across them again and inspiration came to pass. If you're a mixed-media artist looking for new and fun ways to add texture to your pieces, don't miss Cat's delightful technique article in the Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Somerset Studio!

Woo-hoo,I yelled!

These last six months have been a wild ride for me.My work has been accepted for publication,I was accepted as part of the ICEResin Creative team,I was accepted to teach at Artful Gathering...but out of all that wonderfulness(is that a word)this one hit me right in the heart.

When I first started selling my work on EBAY over six years ago now,I ran across an issue of Somerset Studio
That was the first time my work had a name,
Mixed Media
and that was the first time I knew
that one day
my name
would somehow make it
into this magazine.

"Playing with Gauze"
by Cat Kerr(that's me...heehee)

These pieces were created with felt, wood, trim,ICEResin, wire, tea stained gauze and more.

"Nest"

 "Beginning"

"Only as high as I reach can I grow

Only as far as I seek can I go

Only as deep as I look can I see

Only as much as I dream can I be"

— Karen Ravn

As always,
thank you so much for stopping by
