Full of Gratitude

Years ago when hubby and I first split the extra bedroom in half(half for me and half for him) I was thrilled at the idea of NOT creating from the dining room table. We had never painted the spare room so I was stuck with this Hunter green color on the walls, but I was ok with it. Years later,my stuff had gradually taken over the entire room and my generous Hubby was ok with that because he works outside of the home but also teaches online so he only needed a desk and a spot for his books. But as the years continued to follow, my stuff was everywhere and when I started having issues with space and not being able to solder in the space due to the carpet on the floor. You can see more photos of my old room here

So a couple of months ago we decide it would be best to switch out the "play room" with the room next door...my daughters room..it's a little bit larger and the idea of starting from from scratch and setting up all the stations I needed made me jump for joy. My daughter was totally ok with the idea because she would get a new room with a makeover(walls and floor).

This is her room before we started. We had painted her room a light tan color which I already loved so there was no need to repaint.

For months we searched for cabinets on Craigs list and finally found a great selection for a good price. The best part is a functional floor, so while I was away at Art is You,hubby installed the new floor.

We installed my old Jewelry table and this would be new soldering spot...woohoo...

In the meantime,my house was a mess...having to remove all of my daughters belongings and all of my stuff from the playroom.....phew...I had no idea how much stuff I had collected...

But we were sure to recycle what we could. We re-used my wire shelving in the new space and it was perfect.

and we found the perfect corner cabinet for the room on Craigs list. It's not white, but it's all good...more storage...yea....

Filling the space back up with all my stuff was fun...

and it's starting to feel like home...

Here's the early stages of what Hubby created for his space...he created a built in and transformed the closet for his space..it still needs moldings and trim. I am so thankful for his helping heart and handy hands...

I'm super happy with the space.I'm still adding little bits, but once my new quote on the wall was up...it felt like home. It reads " Tell me,what are you going to do with your one wild and precious life?"- Mary Oliver...

and yesterday....I soldered in the room...yea....

Here's to making every minute count,
